Hey live at Ben school for 3 years made the class of 2016 I love the staff and teacher there they were there to help me though everything and now live at Langton Green love it it the best group home
She looked forward to going to work every day and for getting a regular paycheck every 2 weeks. She worked in the Industrial Training Center where the staff secures contracts from businesses in the community which were fulfilled right on Benedictine campus. The social dynamics among the individuals is shaded with kindness, which is really the underlying theme of the entire program. Although they all have a disability, the individuals relate to each other in much the same fashion as any group of individuals do; they have their disagreements but they also look out for each other and are so willing to be helpful. Eileen also worked in the Graphics Dept, the Garden Center and the Environmental Center where the individuals are assigned tasks according to their abilities. Eileen particularly enjoyed shredding and would report each day on how many bags she shredded.
In addition to the work programs, there are many wonderful social events throughout the year that the dedicated staff arranges, from talent shows, to seasonal parties to sporting events. The entire experience made Eileen feel so proud to be in the Benedictine Program. We are so grateful that we found the Benedictine School and remain amazed at the dedication of the staff who work tirelessly every day with the individuals under their care.
My dear sister, Eileen, attended the adult day program at Benedictine for 16 years until her death earlier this year following a stroke. Benedictine made an enormous difference in her life by affording her so many opportunities for work and socialization.
Great people doing great things with challenged kids. They have a wonderful silk screen program, lots of people and businesses order shirts.
